Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.

Burglary--Sept. 23, 7:20 p.m., Cristo Rey Drive. A person parked his car and went for a hike. The person returned and found an unknown person had broken into the locked car and pried open the glove box, taking a wallet.

Attempted Burglary (Residential)--Sept. 22, 11 a.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. Sometime during the afternoon, an unknown person(s) attempted to break into a person's residence. The person(s) did not make entry but damaged the door.

Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale--Sept. 21, 10:11 p.m., Homestead Road. A sheriff's officer monitoring traffic recognized a Ford truck pulling into a service station. The driver was on a search and seizure probation. The officer found three small bags of methamphetamine in the back of the truck and booked the driver into the main jail.

Residential Burglary--Sept. 21, 10 p.m., Miller Avenue. An unknown person(s) broke a dining room window and entered a residence. The person(s) ransacked the residence and stole $4,490 in cash, coins and gold jewelry. The person(s) exited out the front door.

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Tobacco--Sept. 21, 10 a.m., Homestead Road. At a school, two minors were found in possession. One minor also possessed a green pill marked with an X that tested positive for a controlled substance. The other minor had a carton of cigarettes. Both were cited and released.
