Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.
Possession of Heroin--Oct. 2, 10:44 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle and noticed the driver displayed symptoms of being under a stimulant. The officer found the driver had heroin and a hypodermic needle in his pocket. A search of the vehicle yielded heroin, cocaine, a methamphetamine pipe and needles that belonged to a passenger. Two of the passengers had warrants. The driver and a passenger were charged and arrested, and a third passenger was released with a court date.
Possession of Meth--Sept. 28, 4:32 p.m., N. Blaney Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for a violation. The driver admitted to possession of a marijuana pipe. He also had a bag of crystal methamphetamine in his pocket and some marijuana. The person was arrested on charges of possession.
Vandalism--Sept. 28, 8:20 a.m., Gascoigne Avenue. An unknown person(s) sprayed the wall of a house with ketchup. The ketchup partially stained the stucco. The person(s) removed and broke three light bulbs from lights outside the house. The damage is estimated at about $520.
Attempted Burglary--Sept. 27, 4 p.m. Regnart Road. A couple went away for the weekend and returned to find an alarm response card in their mailbox. The alarm company said an alarm activation occurred at a lower story entrance. The homeowners found damage to two screen doors. No entry was made, and nothing was missing.
Grand Theft--Sept. 26, 9 p.m., Martinwood Way. A person had an orange canoe on his driveway behind a table of free items from a garage sale. The person later found the canoe missing. The canoe is valued at $800.
Grand Theft--Sept. 26, 3:31 p.m., De Anza Boulevard. A computer was stolen from a work cubicle. The computer was valued at $2,000. The person(s) responsible is at large.
Grand Theft--Sept. 26, 9:30 a.m., N. Portal Avenue. A business owner hired a person to fix a copy machine. The person demanded an upfront payment of $610.84. The person did not return to do the work and is at large.
