Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.

Altered Registration--Oct. 15, 3:30 p.m., Wunderlich Drive. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for an altered registration. The vehicle had last been registered in October 2005. The officer booked the driver into the main jail.

Vandalism--Oct. 15, 10:30 a.m., Orange Ave. An unknown person(s) broke a window in a church with a pumpkin and caused about $400 in damages.

Vandalism--Oct. 15, 10:30 a.m., Hunterston Place. An unknown person(s) threw two pumpkins at an unoccupied vehicle. The pumpkins damaged the hood and shattered the windshield, causing about $500 in damages.

Felony Vandalism--Oct. 14, 3 p.m., McClellan Road. An unknown person(s) vandalized bleachers and a softball backstop. The person(s) sprayed the structures with marijuana symbols, causing approximately $500 in damages.

Burglary (Vehicle)--Oct. 12, 9:30 a.m., Valley Green Drive. A woman discovered a rear passenger window of her vehicle broken. An unknown person(s) took numerous items from the vehicle and is at large.

Burglary (Residential)--Oct. 10, 10 a.m., Sterling Boulevard. A man reported tools missing from a construction site. An unknown person(s) cut a chain lock on a gate and took an air compressor, extension cord and air hose. The equipment was valued at $488.

Burglary (Vehicle)--Oct. 10, 4:15 a.m., Olive Ave. A man visiting his mother discovered the trunk and door to his car open. An unknown person(s) took speakers, amplifiers and a backpack.
