Chamber installs
new officers,
board members

Bob Adams of Armstrong Retirement Planning is the new president of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce.

The vice presidents, named at the Chamber's installation ceremony on Jan. 9, are Lynn Ching, certified public accountant, finance; Ram Gopal of Gopal of Cupertino Bakery, community relations; Mahesh Nihalani of Jewels in Style and Dave Howser of Sierra Office Supply & Printing, membership; Shawna Holmes of HP, legislative action council; and Joann Mansch of Alotta's Delicatessen & Catering, special events.

Rick Callender of Santa Clara Valley Water District is a new member of the board. Other members are Paula Davis of Flint Center for the Performing Arts, Mike Foulkes of Apple Computers, Mark McKenna of Stevens Creek Quarry, Charles Mollett, CPA; Phil Quon, Cupertino Union School District; attorney James Rodriguez, Maria Streeby, the Cypress Hotel; Jackie Streeter, Coffee Society; and John Zirelli, Los Altos Garbage.

Foundation picks
Sigler as its
new president

Carmen Sigler has been chosen as president of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley (HFSV), a public foundation that invests in the Hispanic community.

"Dr. Sigler is a highly regarded and respected community leader who has made great contributions to HFSV since 2001," said Teresa Alvarado, executive director.

Sigler, who lives in Cupertino and was born and raised in Argentina, is provost and vice president of academic affairs at San Jose State University.

St. Joseph
to hold annual
crab feed

St. Joseph of Cupertino School will hold its seventh annual community crab feed starting at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at its parish hall, 10120 N. De Anza Blvd. All proceeds benefit the school.

Adult tickets are $40, $45 after Jan. 21. Tickets for children under 12 are $20 each. To purchase tickets, call 408.252.6441.
