Los Gatos Weekly-TimesBusiness BriefsCharles Schwab & Co. opens Los Gatos office The financial firm Charles Schwab & Co., which provides discount brokerage services, opened its first office in Los Gatos in December. The new office is part of a branch expansion program that so far has added more than 25 offices nationwide during 1997. Branch manager for the new office at 51 University Ave. is Michael Schick, who has worked for the company for almost 10 years, including his most recent position as investment specialist for the Cupertino office. The investment specialist in the Los Gatos office is Judi Green. Engineer heads Robotic Industries Association Charles S. "Charlie" Duncheon, a resident of Los Gatos and senior vice president of San Jose-based Adept Technology, Inc., has been elected president of Robotic Industries Association (RIA), the industry's official trade group. He has previously served as a member of the RIA Executive Committee. Duncheon holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and an M.B.A., and he is a registered professional engineer and a certified manufacturing engineer. RIA, founded in 1974, is the only trade association in North America organized specifically to serve the field of robotics and machine vision automation.
