Unitarian Fellowship plans a 'Racial Justice' weekend

The Rodney King and O.J. Simpson trials brought racial issues to the forefront of people's minds. The United Nations has declared racism a violation of human rights. And affirmative action is under attack.

In keeping with the messages of harmony preached by the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., the Los Gatos Unitarian Fellowship is presenting Racial Justice Weekend from Jan. 12 to 14, in the hopes of increasing understanding and empathy among races.

All events take place at the Fellowship, located at 15980 Blossom Hill Road. Fri., Jan. 12 features The Color of Fear, a film by Lee Mun Wah. A group discussion follows.

On Sat., Jan. 13, the Black Concerns Working Group holds an anti-racism workshop called "Creating a Jubilee World" from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $10 donation covers workshop costs and lunch.

Linda Tauhid, an African American Diversity trainer and follower of Islam, speaks out against racism on Sun., Jan. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

For more information about the weekend or to register, call the Fellowship at 358-1212 or Ed Nauss at 842-0926.
