Study session for 330 University The Town Council has scheduled a study session for Maxim Development's proposed 22-unit housing development at 330 University Avenue Jan. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main St. Maxim developer Bill Hirschman, town officials and residents will gather in small groups and try to find some solutions for site layout, design and density that are acceptable to all sides. Councilmembers set up the study session in November. After the session, the application goes back to the Planning Commission. For more information, call 354-6872. Board changes meeting times Attention school board watchers: the Los Gatos Union School District board of trustees has changed its monthly meeting night from the second Wednesday to the second Tuesday of each month for 1999. Meetings are scheduled for Jan. 12, Feb. 9, Mar. 9, May 11 and June 8. April's meeting date has not yet been determined because of spring break. Meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Daves Avenue School Library/District Office, 15766 Poppy Lane. Agendas are posted on the front door of the district office. Sheriff to discuss law enforcement Sheriff Laurie Smith, the first woman to hold that post in Santa Clara County, and one of only two women to do so statewide, will address the West Valley Republican Women at 11:30 a.m., Jan. 21 at the Saratoga Country club, 21990 Prospect Road.
