Auto burglary--Jan. 1, 12:29 a.m. on Elm Wood Court. The passenger-side window of the caller's car was smashed and the stereo was stolen. Police took a report.
Suspicious person--Jan. 1, 3:50 p.m. on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. A caller complained of two men who appeared to be transients who were bothering her when she tried to use an ATM. She didn't feel comfortable completing the transaction and left. Police contacted the men and sent them on their way.
Found property--Jan. 2, 9:27 a.m. on Penn Way. Someone left a backpack and other personal property near the caller's side gate. There were some hypodermic needles in the backpack. Police took the property for safekeeping and took a report.
Harassing phone calls--Jan. 2, 2:36 p.m. on Los Gatos-Saratoga Road. A man was calling employees at a business and leaving harassing messages for them. Police gave advice.
Alarm--Jan. 2, 3:38 p.m. on Farley Road. Police responded to a residential alarm and discovered a cleaning person accidentally activated it.
Stray animal--Jan. 4, 8:50 a.m. on Belgatos Lane. Someone at Belgatos Park found a brown horse wandering around near the restrooms. Police searched for and located the errant horse's owner.
Accident--Jan. 4, 12:24 p.m. on Blossom Hill Road. Police took a report at the site of a collision between a car and truck. They also radioed for tow trucks.
Disturbance--Jan. 4, 1:37 p.m. on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. The caller got into a verbal dispute with some transients behind a supermarket. Police counseled the involved parties and took down the transients' names in case they cause trouble again.
Stolen vehicle--Jan. 4, 5:36 p.m. on Alberto Way. Someone stole the caller's red motorcycle while he was inside for 45 minutes. Police took a report.
Driving under the influence--Jan. 4, 5:53 p.m. on Alexander Avenue. A woman drove her car into a parked car. Police contacted the woman, found she was intoxicated and arrested her for DUI. They also took an accident report.
Neighborhood disturbance--Jan. 5, 12:58 a.m. on Monterey Avenue. The caller complained of a party with loud music and loud voices. Police contacted the host, who turned off the music.
Disturbance--Jan. 6, 1:05 a.m. on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. A man had three beers at a bar and began threatening the bartender and some of the patrons. Police contacted and counseled the man and had someone call a cab to take him home.
Trespassing--Jan. 6, 8:36 a.m. on Wilder Avenue. The caller heard noises this morning similar to noises heard for the past few days, which sounded as though someone were beneath the house. Police checked the house, discovered a man down there and arrested him for trespassing.
Auto burglary--Jan. 6, 5:07 p.m. on S. Santa Cruz Avenue. Someone smashed a window in the caller's car and stole a pull-out stereo, cassettes and CDs. Police took a report.
