Daffodil Days sparks creativity
Van Meter School second-graders Jared Schrock (left) and Daniella Rogerson paint vases that will later be filled with freshly cut daffodils as part of Daffodil Days, the American Cancer Society's annual fundraiser, in which donors purchase various sizes of daffodil arrangements for themselves, friends and family members, or as Gifts of Hope. The students' vases will become Gifts of Hope, which ACS volunteers deliver to medical centers and cancer treatment centers for free distribution to patients. Volunteers will be taking orders for Daffodil Days bouquets from Jan. 28 through March 4. More volunteers are always welcome for taking orders and delivering flowers.
