    Police Report

Missing Person--Jan. 16, 12:10 a.m. The father a 21-year-old woman was concerned because she had not checked in with him after a date, which she usually did. The woman lived in Monte Sereno, and her father told police that she was supposed to meet her date at a Texaco station. Police looked around the station and could not find the woman. Finally, the woman contacted her father. No report was taken.

Fire--Jan. 16, 12:03 a.m. A fire started at a business on University Avenue. A passerby saw a glow and called the police, who interviewed the shop owner. The owner said the fire was possibly started by a disgruntled employee. Police speculated that the flames came from a flare being thrown into the building. An arson report was taken.

Traffic Hazard--Jan. 15, 9:23 a.m. A woman driving her car stopped in the middle of the road on westbound Blossom Hill Road. She started her car and drove onto southbound N. Santa Cruz Avenue, where she stopped her car again--this in the middle of oncoming traffic. Police determined that the woman was not driving under the influence, and found out from the woman that she was taking anti-depressants that impaired her ability to drive. The woman's mother came to pick her up from the police station, and a report was taken.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle--Jan. 12, 9:57 p.m. The lock boxes of a Los Gatos Boulevard auto dealer were broken into; some of the cars were possibly damaged, and some keys to vehicles were missing. A gold Toyota 4Runner also appeared on the lots; police found that it was a car that had been reported missing out of San Jose and was left in Los Gatos. A report was taken.

Solicitor--Jan. 11, 5:19 p.m. A Daves Avenue resident said a young woman was soliciting for magazines in her neighborhood. The woman came to the residence several days before, was sent on her way, but returned, this time asking to use the bathroom. The resident was afraid that the solicitor was casing the house for some reason. Police confronted the woman, who was near Quito Road, and advised her about the town code that prohibited soliciting without a permit.

Battery--Jan. 11, 12:17 p.m. A Roberts Road resident called the police, saying their fingers had been bent by a man. No medical attention was needed, the victim said, but the suspect was in the shower. Police arrested the man for battery.

Warrant Served--Jan. 11, 8:29 a.m. Police were advised that a man inside the Los Gatos Municipal Court on Capri Drive was violating a temporary restraining order. The man was a witness for a civil case, but there was a $25,000 warrant for his arrest from the county sheriff's office for battery. The man was arrested.
