Russian and East European adoption workshop is set
The Mountain View-based Domoi Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps unite adoptable international orphans and prospective American parents, sponsors a workshop Feb. 12 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center of Palo Alto, 655 Arastradero Road.
Domoi (pronounced dah-MOY) is Russian for "Let's go home." The workshop's goal is to answer participants' questions about adopting Russian and Eastern European babies and children, to provide adoption-related resources, to explain opportunities for financial assistance and to give participants the chance to speak with adoption professionals. Many Domoi-assisted Bay Area families and their adopted children also will be available to meet with participants.
Refreshments will be served, and childcare is available. All members of the community are welcome. The workshop is free, but Domoi requests a donation of children's multi-vitamins with iron from each participant.
For more information, call 650.969.1980.
