    VTA offers new token option

The Valley Transit Authority announced it will sell tokens for local and limited-stop buses.

Tokens will come in bags of 10 and can be purchased by adults for $10 and by youths for $5.50. This amounts to a $2.50 savings for adults over the course of 10 rides and a $1.50 savings for youths.

VTA authorities say the tokens will eliminate the need to search for exact change and, because they are recirculated, are
more environmentally sound. Call the VTA at 498.321.2300 to find the nearest token dealer.

    Council approves parking lot design

The Town Council approved the concept design for town lot #2, located behind N. Santa Cruz Avenue between Royce Street and Bachman Avenue.

The lot will have two underground levels and
a two-way circular helix ramp, and will extend under town and private property. The project's total cost is estimated at more than $8 million.

The council deferred action on the designs for town lot #6, but authorized the town manager to execute a contract with Gordon H. Chong and Partners for the final designs of both lots. The contract is not to exceed $475,000.
