Los Gatos Weekly-TimesNews BriefsNew appointees on commission Lee Quintana and Jim Lyon became the newest members of the Planning Commission when they were appointed by the Town Council Jan. 19. Quintana, who recently retired from her position as a planner for the city of San Jose, joined the town Redevelopment Advisory Committee in 1990, and moved to the General Plan Committee in 1997. Lyon has been a member of the Historic Preservation Committee for almost a year. He works as a director at a health care company in Mountain View. Of the two commis- sioners whose terms had expired, Laura Nachison was re-appointed to her seat on the commission, but Kathryn Morgan lost her seat. Morgan said that her notice to re-apply was lost in the mail, but she intends to apply for Marcia Jensen's seat, which is open and will be filled in March. For more information, call 354-6834. Campbell plans town meetings Still sour about Rep. Tom Campbell's vote to impeach? Join the club. And the club, in this case, will almost certainly be on hand to give the congressman a piece of its mind about the controversial vote--which Campbell says has created more outcry than any other--at his next round of town hall meetings Campbell will be giving an update on what else is happening on the hill these days, and taking questions from the audience. Campbell will be at the Los Gatos Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main St., on Saturday, Jan. 30, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. He will also be making other stops around Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties over the weekend. Call 371-7337 for more information.
