Carpenter, Borgia

Steven Carpenter of Quincy, Ill., and Reet Vaga of Portland, Ore., announce the engagement of their daughter, Heidi Carpenter, to Brian Thomas Borgia, son of Dr. Charles and Patricia Borgia of Monte Sereno.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Portland, and Washington State University. She is co-owner of Monterey Peninsula Reservations, a hotel reservation service.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Los Gatos High School and Santa Clara University. He is co-owner of Monterey Peninsula Reservations and also owns Valentine Press, a small publishing company in Los Gatos.

They plan an October wedding.

McClelland, Fontana

Donald and Sharon McClelland of Los Gatos announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristina Elizabeth, to Charles Dee Fontana, son of Charles and Gayla Fontana of Prunedale.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Los Gatos High School and Brigham Young University. She is a support engineer for Hewlett-Packard in Cupertino.

Her fiancé is a graduate of North Monterey County High School and Chico State University. He is an I.T. solutions specialist with Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto.

They plan a March wedding.

Ranes, Hogan

Wesley and Mary Hogan of Los Gatos and Dr. Paul and Margaret Ranes of Seattle announce the engagement of their children, Mark Hogan and Dr. Rachel Ranes.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and recently completed her degree in dentistry at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Ore. She is a dentist in Portland.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Los Gatos High School and Oregon State University. He is a sales recruiter with Benchcraft Company in Portland.

They plan an October wedding.
