Tax counseling help is available for the elderly

Free tax counseling for the elderly and others with low to moderate incomes is available at the Saratoga Senior Center, 19655 Allendale Ave., Saratoga. Tax aide volunteers are professionally trained to answer most questions about income tax and the preparation of tax returns.

Counselors will be available Tuesday mornings through April 14.

Call the center at 868-1257 to make an appointment, and remember to take all relevant income data and copies of last year's returns to the session.

For information about free tax counseling at the Los Gatos Senior Drop-in Center, call Kris Jensen at 354-1514. Seniors can also call the IRS at 800-829-1040 for information on senior tax counseling at other locations.
