LaVona Fallstead
Former Los Gatos resident LaVona Lasley Fallstead died Jan. 17 in Sacramento from complications of diabetes. She was 73.
Born in Los Gatos in 1928, Fallstead was a graduate of Los Gatos High School and a lifelong Santa Clara Valley resident until 1999, when she moved to Sacramento to be near her children.
Fallstead was preceded in death by her husband, John Fallstead. Survivors include daughter Roxanne Kopp, sons Neil Fallstead and Brian Fallstead, and five grandchildren.
At her request, no memorial services were held; she will be interred at sea.
Georg Brunner
Georg Jakob Brunner, who lived in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Los Gatos, died Jan. 26 at the age of 77.
Brunner was born April 16, 1924, in Zurich, Switzerland. Before his retirement, he worked as a precision machinist, specializing in the manufacture and repair of intricate machine parts. He was also involved in developing a water purification system using ozone.
Among his hobbies were traveling, ballroom dancing and bird-watching.
Survivors include wife of 53 years, Ellen Brunner; daughters and sons-in-law Christel and Glenn Morely and Kirsten and Randy Le Sech; grandchildren Matt and Paul Morely, Coby Clauson, Cherie Chavez and Kyle and Brandon Le Sech; also eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services have been held.
