Christine Moss gets promotion
Saratoga National Bank appointed Christine Moss to the position of vice president and business development regional manager. A former branch manager, Moss now works at the bank's Los Gatos office on Los Gatos Boulevard.
She is in charge of directing the sales of loan products and deposit services to businesses and individuals.
McCormick moves up at UB Networks
James P. McCormick, a Los Gatos resident, was promoted to the position of vice president, finance at UB Networks, a Santa Clara-based global supplier of computer-network hardware and software products.
In his new position, McCormick is responsible for integration and management of all finance and accounting functions for the company.
Prior to joining UB Networks in 1994, McCormick spent five years at Tandem Computers.
PenWest names administrators
Phyllis Carmichael has been appointed president of the board of directors of the Peninsula West Valley Association of Realtors. She is a past president of the Los Altos Board of Realtors and a past regional chair.
Ellen Elizabeth Ashley serves as executive vice president of PenWest, the 3,000-member real-estate trade association. Prior to joining PenWest, Ashley served as executive officer for the Sunnyvale Association of Realtors.
Former appraiser opens L.G. office
Joseph L. Scott, CPA, has opened a new accounting office at 15780 Los Gatos Blvd. Scott is a former appraiser with the county of Santa Cruz, where he also ran an accounting office for the past 10 years.
A member of the Society of Califor-nia Accountants, the Colorado Society of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accountants, Scott includes tax litigation, property tax and trusts among his areas of expertise.
Susan Maier hands over her scissors
Off Main Street, the downtown beauty salon located at 296 N. Santa Cruz Ave., has recently changed ownership.
Former owner Susan Maier, who established the salon in 1981, has handed over the scissors to Todd Pugatch, formerly of White Wings Salon in Campbell.
An award-winning stylist, Pugatch has worked for Paramount Studios in Hollywood and has appeared on a cable-TV program called Your Look.
