Los Gatos football star Josh Rogers and soccer sensations Natalie Stuhlmueller and Anne Zuparko will each be taking their athletic talents on to the college level next season--that, after signing National letters of intent last week.
Rogers, who put up big numbers as the Gatos quarterback this past fall, signed on with Cal State Sacramento, and Stuhlmueller and Zuparko, who are each currently starring on the soccer field for the Wildcats, have signed with UC-Berkeley.
Rogers, a three-year varsity player for the Cats, had an outstanding senior season for Los Gatos. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder completed 139 of 227 passes (61.2 percent) for 2,169 yards and 15 touchdowns.
He won all-league honors in the rugged De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League and was named on the all-Central Coast Section team.
Stuhlmueller and Zuparko will join former Los Gatos teammates Stacey Mallison and Amy White at Cal. Mallison, White and Stuhlmueller all played for the Central Valley Express team that won the United States Youth Soccer Association national championship in 1995, and all have have played on CCS championship teams at Los Gatos.
Stuhlmueller and Zuparko hope to lead Los Gatos to yet another CCS title. The two each scored goals last week in an important 4-1 league win over Los Altos that helped the Cats improve to 10-2 in the De Anza Division of the SCVAL.
