    Commissioners delay decision

The Santa Clara County Planning Commission has put off a decision on the Lexington Quarry until April 4 on the advice of the county planning department. Planners said they needed more time to evaluate the environmental impacts of the quarry, which has applied for expansion and renewal of its county-issued conditional-use permit. Planners recommended a 60-day continuance of the hearing, originally scheduled for Feb. 7. This is the fourth time delay.

The meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. April 4 in the board chambers of the County Government Center, 70 W. Hedding St. in San Jose.

    Yuki Farms gets zone change

On Feb. 4, the Los Gatos Town Council granted Yuki Farms' request to change the zoning on part of its property from "resource conservation" to commercial. Council members decided that the zone change was consistent with the General Plan; the 37,000-square-foot parcel is between office, retail and commercial developments.

According to a town report, Yuki has not yet submitted a formal application to develop the property, though a mixed-use development did come before the town's conceptual advisory development committee in January. In December, Yuki received town approval to adjust a lot line to create this parcel.

Buses to run on normal schedule

All VTA operations will run on regular weekday times on President's Day, Monday Feb. 18. This includes buses, light rail and express buses, such as the Highway 17 Express. The only lines that will be closed for the holiday are the River Oaks Shuttle and Dumbarton Express.
