Los Gatos Town Clerk Marian V. Cosgrove has received the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks for achieving its high educational, experiential and service requirements. This certification program aids city, town and deputy clerks in improving their job performance and recognizes them for their professionalism, career development, college degrees and continuing education.
Cosgrove has been employed by the Town of Los Gatos since December 1988. She holds a bachelor's degree in education from Kent State University in Ohio and a master's in public administration from San Jose State University. She also holds a general teaching credential from the State of California.
A member of the City Clerks Association of California, the Northern California City Clerks Association and the League of California Cities, Cosgrove attends seminars each year for city clerks and officials.
Personal trainer named PGA fitness consultant
Kelly Blackburn, president of Elite Personal Fitness Trainers, has been named the 1999 fitness consultant and fitness contributor for PGATOUR.com, the official Web site of the Professional Golfers' Association tour.

Hi/fn Inc., a Los Gatos-based Internet and network security specialist company, has appointed Robert C. Harrah as its vice president of sales. Prior to joining Hi/fn Inc., Harrah's experience in the field included serving as vice president of worldwide sales for Adaptec's Peripheral Technology Solutions Group and senior marketing and sales management positions with Symbios Inc. and National Semiconductor. Hi/fn Inc., which was founded in 1996, makes integrated circuits and software for manufacturers of computer networking products.
