    Police Report

Stolen Vehicle--Feb. 12, 10:43 a.m. A Ross Creek Court resident left his keys in the ignition of his SUV overnight, and the next morning his car had been stolen. He had also received a phone call from someone who said the car had crashed and the caller had his checkbook. Police investigated the incident and found that the car had been impounded by the Palo Alto Police Department after it was in a hit-and-run accident.

Traffic Hazard--Feb. 12, 7:54 a.m. Several construction trucks were parked on and using Quito Road, blocking traffic and creating a hazardous situation. The trucks belonged to a construction company that was working on a demolition nearby. Police told the company not to park on Quito. No report was taken.

Theft--Feb. 11, 3:57 p.m. A pack of checks had possibly been taken from a resident's mailbox in January. The resident said the checks had been forged and then cashed, and they had never come in the mail. A report was taken.

Mentally Disturbed Person--Feb. 11, 1:42 p.m. A Los Gatos woman called her friend and said she was losing her mind. The friend called the police, who arranged to meet with the woman. Police took her to a psychologist for treatment. No report was taken.

Attempted Burglary--Feb. 11, 10:25 a.m. A person broke into a Harding Avenue residence by going through the unlocked basement door at 3 a.m. a day earlier. The resident woke up when the suspect was coming up the stairs and confronted the intruder, who left immediately. The resident had no description of the suspect because the house had been dark.

Resuscitator--Feb. 11, 10:17 a.m. A 45-year-old man was inside a N. Santa Cruz Avenue bar when he suddenly had a seizure, hitting his head while falling down. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and listed as a John Doe because the hospital could not find any identification. Police then took the bartender to the hospital because he knew the victim's name.
