    Youth soccer tryouts continue

    Soccer tryouts continue throughout the month for the teams of the Los Gatos United Soccer League. Local soccer tryout information follows:

    * Los Gatos United Soccer League will hold tryouts for Class 3 (Comp) teams running through March 2-3 at Fisher Middle School. For further information on the tryouts, contact:

    * The Los Gatos Jaguars, a boys under 10 Class 3 (comp) soccer team, is holding tryouts on Feb. 27, 3:30-5 p.m., at Oak Meadow Park and March 2-3, 8:30-10 a.m., at Fisher Middle School. Boys born between Aug. 1, 1992, and July 21, 1993, are eligible. For more information, contact John Fumia at 408.395.2141 or jfumes@aol.com.

    * The Los Gatos Boots, a girls under-11 Class 3 (comp) soccer team, is holding tryouts on Feb. 23-24 and March 2-3. Girls born between Aug. 1, 1991, and July 31, 1992, are eligible. The team is looking for new players and a goalkeeper for an expanding roster. For more information, contact Quinn Mommaerts at 408.356.0798 or arandmommaerts@earthlink.net.

    * The Los Gatos Lock, a girls under-15 Class 1 (select) soccer team, is looking for a goalkeeper for the spring and fall teams. Girls born between Aug. 1, 1987, and July 31, 1988, are eligible. Training will be provided by Los Gatos High School girls soccer coaches Tulin Mendoza and Peter Lovell. For more information, call Steve Stavis at 408.358.2046.

    * Tryouts for the Los Gatos United Soccer League's Class 1 (select) high school age team will be held March 2-3, 2-4 p.m., at Fisher Middle School. The team is open to all girls who will be of high school age next fall. For more information, call Vince Tripp at 408.356.9474.
