The University of California Regents are a step closer to selling their property on Blossom Hill Road.
Last November, the UC Regents submitted conceptual development plans to the town for a 39-lot development on its 103-acre parcel, which fronts 14734 Blossom Hill Road. At that time, the Conceptual Development Advisory Committee agreed that the 15,000-square-foot lots were too small.
At a Jan. 24 meeting, the committee reviewed the regents' revised plans, which call for 40 lots clustered around a neighborhood park. Lot sizes range from 10,000 to 30,000 square feet. The committee found the plans in keeping with town planning codes, so the regents are now free to present the conceptual development to prospective buyers.
Gary DeWeese, an assistant treasurer in the UC system, said after the meeting that the regents have a number of potential buyers for their property.
"The conceptual plan is just a guide," DeWeese added. "There's no guarantee that the property will be developed that way."
