Los Gatos Weekly-TimesThe ProwlerThe weather may have returned to being wet and windy, but the Prowler has noticed the fickle forecast never succeeds in raining on everyone's parade at once. There are, in fact, lots of enjoyable indoor events coming up here in rainy Los Gatos. On Feb. 25, the Los Gatos History Club holds its annual silent auction, whose proceeds benefit local philanthropies. Anytime from noon to 8 p.m., curious cats and eager buyers can stop by the clubhouse, located at 123 Los Gatos Blvd., to check out cool gift baskets loaded with goodies--edible and otherwise--that reflect a variety of themes. Local merchants have again been generous enough to donate items for the auction. The Prowler also hears the club is serving hot coffee and tasty cookies to tempt bidders into staying a while. Entrance fee is $5. Four days and a few miles away--at 15619 Los Gatos Blvd., to be exact--is an open house and spring creativity festival celebrating the first anniversary of the Los Gatos Healing Center/Miracle Resource Center. The events on March 1 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. include art, crafts, storytelling, live entertainment, food and info about what exactly these centers do. Sounds like a fun and edifying way to spend the afternoon. For those who are tired of El Niño and its storms, Daves Avenue elementary school offers a trip to an enchanted land of pirates, Indians, Lost Boys and a flying hero who never grew up. March 6-8, more than 60 of the school's fourth- and fifth-graders are performing a musical adaptation of James M. Barrie's classic Peter Pan. For ticket info and showtimes, call 354-4322.
