    The Prowler

About a month ago, the Prowler mentioned the annual Echoes of Winter free concert series offered by Mirassou Vineyards, at its winery on Aborn Road in San Jose and champagne cellars in Los Gatos. How fast time flies--the second and last concert at the cellars is coming up on March 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. and features jazz and vocals by the Jennifer Lee Trio. Wine tasting is available from noon to 5 p.m. For directions to the cellars, or information about the remaining concerts in San Jose, call 408.274.4000, or 408.395.3790.

Another one-time-only deal is coming up on March 10. It's a demonstration by Lynne DeBoer at the next meeting of the Los Gatos Art Association, which begins at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Los Gatos, 19 High School Court. DeBoer carves and decorates the eggs of ostriches, emus, geese and cockatiels to create unique little gems that resemble the fabled Fabergé eggs. DeBoer calls hers "Faux-Berge Eggs" and will take her audience through all steps of the process. Refreshments will be served, and anyone interested in art is welcome.

There're two whole months to enjoy this next event--a show titled Reinvent Yourself, which runs March 1 through April 30, at Elemental Arts Gallery in Old Town. This cat hears the show consists of a variety of interesting works from folks in the California Association of Clay & Glass Artists. The public is invited to a reception on the Ides of March, from 6 to 9 p.m. Call 408.354.6608.

Gallery owner Tracy Halgren and husband Chris Houck, are expecting their first child during the same time period as the exhibit!
