The Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department now has a World Wide Web site available for access by anyone with a computer, a modem and a connection to the Internet.
The Web site offers information on all 27 county parks, which comprise 40,000 acres and 200 miles of trails. Among the recreational activities available at these parks are hiking, camping, boating, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, archery and range-shooting.
Users can navigate the site and "visit" the parks by looking up their geographic locations or their recreational activities, or by accessing an alphabetical list. The site includes a series of maps of the county's regional park system as well as sections with general information, individual park pages and information about reservations, interpretive programs and volunteer opportunities. Any section of the Web site, including maps, can be downloaded and printed for future reference.
