    Good Grades

The Los Gatos boys soccer team finished among the top contenders for the Central Coast Section's Winter Season Scholastic Championship team awards.

The Gatos boys teamed for a combined 3.50 grade point average to finish fourth among boys soccer teams in the CCS. It was the fifth-best GPA among all boys teams in the winter season.

    Oars in the Water

The Los Gatos Rowing Club will open the 2002 home season with a March 9 regatta at Lexington Reservoir. The club will be home again on March 17 for a rowing event at Lexington.

    Soccer Tryouts

Tryouts for the Los Gatos United Soccer League's boys under-9 comp team will be held March 17 and 23 at Fisher Middle School. Players should report in soccer wear--shorts, shin guards, soccer shoes--and should bring a water bottle and sweat shirt. For more information, contact coach Jeff Rose at 408.358.7394 or roseentr@attbi.com.

    Pop Warner

The Los Gatos Pop Warner football organization is currently holding online registration for players and cheerleaders. Last year teams filled up quickly, so interested boys and girls ages 7-15 are encouraged to register early.

The season begins in August of 2002. Sign-up information is available at www.lgpw.com or by calling the organization's hotline at 408.920.2204.

    Youth Volleyball

The U.S. Volleyball League is holding registration for the 2002 spring season, which will run from April 17 through June 8 at Los Gatos High School.
