Cats hit the road ... to New York

    By Dick Sparrer

"If they can make it there, they'll make it anywhere ... "

The Los Gatos track and field team will be home and away for a couple of meets this week.

The Wildcats start the week with a home meet against St. Francis, then they hit the road for New York ...

New York? That's right, Los Gatos will send a contingent of athletes to the Empire State to participate in an invitational meet.

"We'll take our top kids to New York for the indoor nationals," said Gatos coach Willie Harmatz, who will take a group of 18 athletes to the competition.

The Wildcats, who have already run two meets this season, will host the Lancers on March 6, 3:15 p.m., in a girls meet.
