Los Gatos says 'thanks' to NYFD

The town of Los Gatos hosted firefighters from New York Fire Company #52 the weekend of March 1 to thank them and to promote tourism across the country. (Left to right) Los Gatos Councilman Joe Pirzynski, Vice Mayor Sandy Decker, NYFD firefighter Joe O'Brien, NYFD Capt. Dan Daly, Mayor Randy Attaway and Councilman Steve Glickman spent four days together. The weekend began with a reception and dinner at the Shannon Road fire station, when Daly thanked the community of Los Gatos. "You are part of the rebuilding process of America," Attaway told O'Brien and Daly. "It's very kind of you to say 'thank you' to us, but in reality, it's thank you from us to you." The New York firefighters, Santa Clara County firefighters and Los Gatos officials also exchanged gifts and commendations. Weekend activities included a tour of San Francisco, Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church and presentations at Los Gatos schools.
