Chris Park starred as a freshman on the swimming team at Los Gatos High.
And not much has changed in the past couple of years.
Because Park is now a junior, and he's still starring in the Gatos waters. He won a pair of events and was part of two winning relay teams in the Wildcats' recent 99-66 win over Lynbrook.
The win came in the opening meet of the season in the De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League.
Park breezed to a victory in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.53 and he backed that up with a first in the 100 free in 50.42.
Park teamed with John Etheridge, Chris Herr and Jason Duink for a win in the 200 free relay in 1:35.15 and he joined forces with Lance Campbell, Marc Cavagnolo and Etheridge for a first in the 400 free relay in 3:35.40.
Campbell added a first in the 200 free in 1:54 and got together with Cavagnolo, Herr and Mark Greenwood for a victory in the 200 medley relay in 1:53.69.
Cavagnolo supported with an individual victory in the 500 free in 5:11.05 and James Rego was a winner in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:19.64.
The Wildcats competed in the Serra Relays this past weekend, placing sixth in the tough field. Bellarmine won the team title with Serra second.
The Cats were third in the 400 free relay and the 200 free relay.
