Police Report

Traffic hazard--March 14, 5:27 p.m., at Placer Oaks Road and Oak Rim Way. A group of boys set up a basketball hoop and were playing basketball in the street. Police counseled the boys and had them relocate their game.

Drunk in public--March 14, 10:29 p.m., on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. An intoxicated man was inside a business and refused to leave. Police contacted him and arrested him for public drunkenness. They also discovered he had an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Found property--March 15, 1:28 p.m., on Los Gatos­Almaden Road. The caller found a hypodermic needle with blood on it. Police took it for safekeeping and took a report.

Malicious mischief--March 15, 4:31 p.m., on High School Court. Someone used a hard object to write "420" on the hood of the caller's car. Police took a report.

Fight/resisting arrest--March 15, 11:10 p.m., on E. Main Street. The caller reported a fight ensuing among some possibly intoxicated men in a store. After trying to contact the men and break up the fight, police arrested three of them.

Juvenile disturbance--March 16, 12:52 p.m., on Dorado Lane. A neighbor reported juveniles were playing with firecrackers in a back yard. Police counseled the juveniles.

Suspicious people--March 17, 8:48 a.m., on Kimble Avenue. The caller was concerned about two men carrying a ladder and looking through a neighbor's gate. Police discovered the men were painters.

Child beating/resisting arrest--March 17, 3:28 p.m., on Los Gatos Boulevard. The caller, who happened to be an off-duty CHP officer, noticed the driver of a car was beating a young boy in the passenger seat. Police pulled the car over, made contact with the man and arrested him.
