Town increases Plaza budget, builder named

The Los Gatos Town Council approved increasing the budget for the Town Plaza Park renovation from $1.5 million to more than $1.6 million on March 18. The new costs include improved lighting to plaza trees, an audio system for the park and retention of the park design firm.

San Jose-based company Robert A. Bothman Inc. was awarded the construction contract for the project for just under $1.3 million. Construction began March 25.

    League holds forum on transportation

Budgets have been slashed state- and county- wide, and transportation improvements in the county have been minimized or delayed as a result. The League of Women Voters has organized an April 6 public forum to discuss the implications on future developments. Panelists include County Supervisor Jim Beall and representatives from VTA, BART and the Mineta Transportation Institute. The forum will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Agilent headquarters in Santa Clara, 5301 Stevens Creek Blvd. Call Irene Sampson at 408.493.6550 for more information.
