The Prowler
The Prowler hopes readers will tolerate one more reference to animals, since this writer happens to be one! Also, with Easter just around the corner, it's time to share an important message.
According to this cat's ever-ebullient friend, Leslie Baikie-Khavari at the nonprofit Humane Society of Santa Clara Valley: "Eastertime is here and that means it's time to educate the public about rabbits' special needs!" Apparently, lots of well-meaning parents get their kids baby bunnies this time of year, then experience buyers' remorse when the fluffballs become adults.
Many folks don't know that most rabbits don't like being picked up or carried, but they do like affection and can suffer physically and emotionally if they don't get it. They're prone to getting in trouble if left alone in the house, but they can be housebroken! Some folks also don't know what foods are good for a rabbit's health. Anyone who truly wants a rabbit might consider adopting last Easter's "leftovers" from the Humane Society, which also has a flurry of other furry friends looking for homes, including rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters and guinea pigs. And now for something completely different! The Los Gatos Art Association and Los Gatos Museum Association are holding their annual Open Juried Art Show from April 4 to May 4 at the Los Gatos Museum of Art, 4 Tait Ave. Juried by longtime painter Karen Honaker, it consists of oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings; pastel, pencil and ink pieces; mixed media works, photographs and three-dimensional pieces of art. A public reception, with refreshments of course, takes place April 7 at 1 p.m.
