Council considers substation stance

Councilmembers are looking for public input on a pending proposal for a new PG&E substation at the intersection of Lark Avenue and Winchester Boulevard.

The council will discuss what recommendation, if any, it will make on the project to the California Public Utilities Commission when it meets Monday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

The council will also be discussing several possible alternative sites for the substation, most of which are located near Highway 17 between Lark Avenue and Highway 85.

For more information, call 354-6824.

Crowds expected at Vasona Park

More than 10,000 people are expected to visit Vasona Lake County Park Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, to attend a celebration of the Persian New Year.

Because of the large attendance levels, the park may close its gates to traffic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but it will remain open to pedestrians.
