WVC will host a job fair April 26
Forty employers have already committed to be part of West Valley College's April 26 job fair. The college hopes to link Santa Clara Valley employers with students entering the workplace.
Among the employers scheduled to attend are the California Highway Patrol, Santa Clara County, Pacific Bell, United Airlines, and JDR Microdevices.
The job fair is open to the public and will be held in the Student Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 408.867.2200 ext. 3474.
Population is subject of forum
The fourth public forum in The League of Women Voters Sustainability Series will feature speaker Marilyn Hempel, a national expert on population control.
Hempel has lived and worked in a number of developing nations, is the executive director of the Population Coalition, serves on the board of directors for both the Population Institute and Zero Population Growth and works with the president's Council on Sustainable Development.
The forum takes place on April 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the Saratoga Senior Center. For information, call 408.867.VOTE.
Town looks for policy advisors
The town of Los Gatos has a plethora of vacancies on various boards and committees and will be taking applications from Los Gatos residents through June 2.
There are vacancies on the arts commission, the board of appeals, representative to the county Council on Aging, the town's library board, the parking commission and the trails and bikeway committee.
