    LGHS musician gets high ratings

    LGHS junior Greg Ryder was recently rated unanimous superior/command performance at the California Music Educators Association Solo and Ensemble Festival at San Jose State University. At the event, Ryder, who plays tenor and alto saxophone, was accompanied on the piano by Craig Heimbichner.

    Ryder is one of 95 California High School musicians to be selected to participate in the three-day Cal Poly Wind Festival.

    Los Gatan heads to Ireland to study

    Los Gatan Ryan Johnson is one of 14 Lehigh University students, who will head to Ireland this spring for the 20th annual Martindale Center for Private Enterprise all-expenses-paid trip. The group will travel to the Emerald Isle to interview Ireland's top dignitaries as part of their research on the country's economic issues.

    When they return to the United States, the students will write research papers on their findings, which will be published in the Martindale Journal: Perspectives on Business and Economics.
