    Vocolot

    In Fine Voice

The a cappella women's sextet, Vocolot, performs April 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Skyland Church, 25100 Skyland Road in Los Gatos. The San Francisco-based group sings most of its songs in rounds or canons, with lyrics in English, Hebrew, Ladino or Arabic. Its name is a combination of the English word "vocal" and the Hebrew word "kolot," which means song. Founded and directed by Linda Hirschhorn since 1988, the group consists of members with diverse musical backgrounds, including folk, rock, jazz, liturgy, cabaret, Yiddish, doo-wop and choral performance. The group of Hirschhorn, Jennifer Karno, Ellen Robinson, Judith Kate Friedman, Liz Steuart and Alison Lewis has sung throughout the United States. The performance is $15 for adults, $5 for children. For directions to Skyland Church, call 408.353.4366.
