Edward T. Burns of Los Gatos announces the engagement of his daughter, Mary-Kate Burns, to Scott C. Bell, the son of Kyle and Suzanne Catterlin of Aptos.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Leigh High School and is completing her bachelor's degree at San Jose State University.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Aptos High School and is a petty officer third class in the U.S. Coast Guard.

They plan a May 1998 wedding.

Millen, Mehmet

Bekir and Neriman Mehmet of Fremont announce the engagement of their daughter, Mina Mehmet, to Mike Millen, the son of Bert and Gloria Millen of Los Gatos.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Fremont Christian High School and San Jose State University. She is an administrative assistant and wedding coordinator at South Hills Community Church.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory and Santa Clara University. He is an attorney.

They plan a September 1998 wedding.
