A Place for Teens seeks volunteers

A Place for Teens is looking for a few good adults to sit on its board of directors--especially those with new ideas and fresh energy.

A Place for Teens, also known as "The Outhouse," is run by adult and teen volunteers.

Vacancies on the board will open up in June, when longtime members give up their seats.

Potential board members are especially encouraged to apply if they have experience in any of the following areas: legal issues; finance and accounting; contracting; word processing; fundraising and grantwriting; or event and activity planning.

For information, call Gladie Rabitz at 354-7357 or Dru Barth at 354-3956.

Take note: the tax man cometh

Procrastinators, take note: on April 15, window-service hours at the Los Gatos post office will be from 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The last pickup from the outside collection boxes is at 9:30 p.m. And if that's still not good enough, the Willow Glen station, at 1750 Meridian Avenue in San Jose, will be open until midnight.

The post office reminds last-day filers to mail early in the day, double-check the address and ZIP code, seal the envelope securely and consider using certified mail.
