Intersection will be closed for repairs periodically over the next few weeks

    By Gloria I. Wang

A busy downtown Los Gatos intersection will be closed for repairs and improvements on certain days over the next two or three weeks.

Construction was scheduled to begin April 16 on Broadway, at S. Santa Cruz Avenue. The town is working on the curbs, gutters and storm drains at that intersection, causing the entire width of Broadway to be closed some days.

Also, the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department is doing construction work on the bus pad, curb and gutter on the east side of S. Santa Cruz Avenue, along Town Plaza Park. After the work is finished, the town hopes to open up the northbound lane that turns right onto W. Main Street.

Mitigation measures include signs and personnel with warning flags. While Broadway is closed, there will be detour signs and road closure signs. Still, the town urges drivers to use alternate streets when possible.

For more information, contact Parks and Public Works at 408.399.5770.
