Chamber organizes network group
The Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Business Referral Network group to help businesspeople develop new leads and expand networking contacts. The group meets every Tuesday from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at Fresh Choice in the Cornerstone Shopping Center.
The new group, which calls itself the Los Gatos Royal Cats, is chaired by Kim Pearson of Alain Pinel Realtors of Los Gatos and Jon Fine of the Los Gatos office of the Santa Clara Land Title Company.
The network brings up to 30 noncompeting Los Gatos businesses together to exchange ideas and referrals. Occasional guest speakers keep the group informed on topics to enhance business.
For more information, call Pearson at 358-1111 or Fine at 231-7176. The program is open to Los Gatos businesses only.
Invitation to sit out opening day of the trout season
Flyfishing in downtown Los Gatos? It's Upstream Flyfishing owner Kurt Lemon's civilized answer to the traditional combat fishing typically associated with the first weekend of trout season. Instead of fighting for space in and around fishing streams, Lemons invites fishing enthusiasts, and those who would like to be, to come for an open house April 28 featuring a who's who of flyfishing instructors, guides and manufacturers.
In previous years, the open house took place on the evening before the opening day of trout season, but increasing attendance prompted Lemons to make a day of it.
The open house takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Upstream Flyfishing, 54 N. Santa Cruz Ave. There is no charge.
