    The Prowler

So many cool things to do and not enough time in which to do them--that about sums up this busy cat's life! Some readers may have the same problem once they finish reading this week's column!

There's not much the Prowler loves more than free food, so you can guess where this cat will be on April 19--that's the date the Jamba Juice at 628 Blossom Hill Road will be giving away free smoothies between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m.! It's partly in response to Fast Food Nation magazine's report that the average American doesn't get the recommended 5-7 daily servings in the fruit and veggie nutrition group.

This fantastic freebie is also a fundraiser! Together with its other stores in 23 states nationwide, our Jamba will be collecting donations on that day to share with local community organizations. Good food for good causes--what could be better?

For those whose thirst is for a little boot-stompin' music, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Department of Community Education and Recreation has just the ticket: country line dancing classes that run Tuesdays from April 17 through June 5. Two experience levels are available: beginners' classes are 10-11:15 a.m., while beginning to intermediate dancers can scoot their boots from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Although geared toward senior citizens, other ages are welcome. Call 408.354.8700.

For fun geared especially toward children, don't miss storyteller Yolanda Rhodes at the Los Gatos Public Library on April 26, at 3:30 p.m. She'll be telling whimsical tales from around the world, suitable for ages 5 and up. Call 408.354.6893.
