    The Prowler

The Prowler is almost afraid of speaking too soon, but it appears Spring has sprung. At least that was the case last week, when this cat saw people in shorts, kids playing in fountains and convertibles with their tops down.

Speaking of cars, it's time for another paean to personalized license plates. But first a tip this cat picked up on the Internet. The California DMV has a website where anyone can search to see if a personalized configuration is available. Check out plates.ca.gov/search.

Roman numerals come in handy for some drivers. With the Arabic "5" already in use, the driver of the minivan PRTYOFV found another way to count his or her family members. This cat isn't sure if the sportscar FN IV ME is fun or fine, but thanks to Roman numerals, we know who it's for.

Letters also have different uses. The sport utility vehicle 2XTHFUN is two times better than something. Then there's X QNS NY, an ex-New Yorker who is obviously proud of his or her East Coast heritage.

Speaking of pride, the Prowler suspects the driver of the ritzy convertible JUST4ME is probably not the type of person to loan the car to anyone. LILUGLY, on the other hand, is an old and admittedly unattractive pickup truck whose driver probably never gets asked to loan it!

Among the most creative plates is IM ENFP on a black sedan. For those not in the know, ENFP is one of the 16 personality types delineated by psychologist David Keirsey in his Keirsey Temperament Sorter. It also happens to be the Prowler's type! Internet geeks can visit www.keirsey.com. to take the fun questionnaire and get lots more info on personality types.
