Los Gatos Weekly-TimesPolice search for armed robbersThe driver of a courier vehicle was the victim of an armed robbery on April 15 at approximately 3 p.m., according to the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department. Following a call to the department, officers responded to the vicinity of Monterey and Andrews avenues and found a driver who had just been robbed. The man, a courier from a local business, told police he was apparently followed to his car by three males, who then confronted him. The courier told police that he believed two of the suspects were hiding handguns under newspapers. According to the police report, one of the suspects smashed out the rear window of the car, while another punctured one of the car's tires. The third suspect grabbed merchandise bags off the courier's shoulder, and then all three men fled the scene. The courier was not injured. The loss of property from the bags was not disclosed. The three suspects were last seen driving along eastbound Los Gatos-Saratoga Road in a small black or dark-colored vehicle. Police detectives request that anyone with any information on this incident call Det. John Pernick at the investigations bureau at 354-6825.
