Obituaries

Raymond Stowell

Raymond Carl Stowell of Los Gatos died Feb. 22 at the age of 83. He was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Red Bluff, Calif.

He is survived by wife Frances Stowell of Los Gatos; sons Edgar Oakley Stowell, Eric Raymond Stowell and Mahlon Miller Stowell; grandchildren Lisa, Scott and Todd Stowell and Diana Stowell Hawkes; great-grandchildren Amanda and Brad Stowell and Mack and John Hawkes; brother William Stowell; and nephews Bob, Mark and Ron Stowell.

Denis Giordano

Lifelong Los Gatos resident Denis Bartolameo Giordano died at home March 4 following a long battle with cancer. He was 59.

Born June 26, 1938, Giordano was the oldest son of parents who emigrated from Italy. After attending the old University Avenue School, he graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1956. He also met his future wife, Melinda, while attending LGHS. After graduating from San Jose State University, Giordano worked for Allstate Insurance for 32 years as a commercial claims adjuster.

Giordano was a founding member of the Los Gatos Bocce Club and spent many hours playing bocce ball with his friends. He also enjoyed domestic and international travel with his wife--especially visiting relatives in Italy. His family describes him as "a fun-loving, gregarious person who loved people and life."

Survivors include wife Melinda of Los Gatos; sons Michael and Chris Giordano; brothers Aldo and Duino Giordano; nephews Bart and John Giordano; nieces Stacey and Katie Giordano and Michele Rodinsky; grandnieces Kayla and Emily Rodinsky; and many cousins, in-laws and extended family members.

Memorial services have been held, with interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.

James McCormick

Los Gatos resident James Graham McCormick Jr. died March 7 at the age of 49. A California native, McCormick was born May 6, 1948, in San Mateo. He worked as a manager at Solectron.

Survivors include wife Sharon McCormick of Los Gatos; stepdaughter and son-in-law Jenny and Damon Mercer; granddaughters Paige and Sierra Mercer; father James Graham McCormick Sr.; brother Martin McCormick and sisters Anne Montalvan and Elinor Voskes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services have been held.

Harrietta Geddes

Longtime Los Gatan Harrietta Stapp Geddes died March 21 of complications from pneumonia. She was 79.

Geddes was born March 13, 1919, in Berkeley. Her father and aunt, W.L. Stapp and Effie Walton, were real estate agents instrumental in the development of Aldercroft Heights and Redwood Estates in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Craig Geddes. She is survived by husband George Douglas Geddes of Los Gatos; son Clifford Douglas Geddes of San Jose; and grandchildren Scott, Brian and Wendy Geddes of Chico.

Memorial services have been held, with interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
