The eighth annual Police Recognition Dinner, sponsored by the Los Gatos Rotary Club, is scheduled for May 16 at La Rinconada Country Club to recognize Los Gatos police and members of the community.
Keynote speaker is FBI Special Agent Hugh Galyean. Merit awards will be given to officers Randy Bishop and Sam Wonnell, with commendation awards to Sergeant Larry Pankey and officers Ken Berry and John Campos. Awards for significant community contributions will go to citizens Jeff Arabia, Thomas Patrick Kelly and Jose and Mia Pulido; the Los Gatos Lions Club and Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad will also receive awards.
The evening begins with a 6 p.m. social hour; the dinner and program commence at 7 p.m. Entertainment follows. Cost is $25 per person, with choice of chicken or vegetarian entrée. Interested individuals--whether attending the event or not--are invited to "sponsor a cop" for the evening with a $25 donation to pay for an officer's meal.
