    Town needs garage sale registration

May 3 is the deadline day for those who wish to register for the annual community garage sale, a joint venture between Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and nearby unincorporated areas. The sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Registration is for residents who have items for sale. Those residents will be included in the garage sale shoppers' guide and newsletter, will receive free advertising in all associated publicity and will be able to have their unsold items picked up by the Salvation Army for free. To obtain a registration form, call 408.399.5796.

Planning process addressed at town meeting

A Los Gatos study session is scheduled for April 27 at 9 a.m. in the Toll House Hotel. The session, a joint discussion between the Los Gatos Town Council, planning commission and historic preservation committee, will touch on planning procedures.

A study session is for town officials to gather and talk in an informal setting. There is no official public hearing, but community members are welcome to attend and observe.

Ice cream to celebrate city's birthday

Monte Sereno will mark its 45th anniversary with an ice cream social in the city hall parking lot Sunday, May 19. The celebration will include presentations from city officials and programs for children. Held from 2 to 4 p.m., the event will need citizen volunteers for planning, setup and cleanup.

The city's official birthday is May 14. Call Monte Sereno City Hall at 408.354.7635.
