Genevieve Wiseley
Former Los Gatan Genevieve Alice Wiseley died April 5 in Kirkland, Wash., after a battle with cancer. She was 81.
Born Aug. 23, 1920, in Mt. Pinson, Ala., Wiseley was a flight attendant with Pan American Airways. During her career, she met and fell in love with a pilot, Elmer M. Wiseley, whom she married in 1949. During their 34 years of marriage, the couple was based in Hong Kong for six years, after which time they were transferred to the Bay Area, where they lived for 24 years.
Known for her love of golf, Wiseley served as one of the directors of the Women's Northern California Golf Association, where she directed, played in and won many tournaments over the years.
Wiseley was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, and their son, Stephen. Survivors include daughter Carol L. Wiseley of Kirkland, Wash.; grandson Stephen L. Wiseley of Kirkland; and nephews John and Frank Jacks.
