    Golf tournament

    The Los Gatos Little League Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the local league, will be held on May 10 at the Summit Pointe Golf Club in Milpitas.

    The 18-hole scramble, best-ball tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., following registration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The entry fee of $175 includes golf cart, range balls, lunch and beverages, tee prizes and a dinner buffet.

    Cat's Hill

    The 28th annual Cat's Hill Criterium, a bicycle race held on the streets of downtown Los Gatos, is coming up May 11.

    More than 400 amateur riders and 100 professionals will compete in a number of different races as they speed down Tait, Bayview, Nicholson and Bachman streets, and also make the famous climb up the steep Nicholson hill--Cat's Hill.

    Youth soccer

    The Los Gatos United Soccer League will hold sign-ups for boys and girls ages 5-16 interested in playing in the 2002 fall season. Sign-ups are April 23 and 29 and May 2, 6:30-9 p.m. each night, in the cafeteria at Fisher Middle School.

    Players must provide a copy of a birth certificate and a registration check at the registration.

    Monarchs win

    Brian Dombrowski scored a pair of goals to lead the Mitty boys junior varsity roller hockey team to a 2-1 win over Piedmont Hills in the league championship game.

    Members of the championship team, coached by Dennis Choi, included Dombrowski, goalkeeper Chris Choi, Andrew Verbrugge, Jamie Dahl, Adam Wiseman and Josh Tofig of San Jose; Matt Beams of Gilroy; Logan Dudley of Los Gatos; Nick Marko of Sunnyvale; and Andy Lounsbury of Santa Clara.

    Mitty now moves up to a higher division for the spring season that has just begun at Rollin' Ice in San Jose.

    The sport is not sanctioned by schools in the area.
