CHP instructor to speak at police recognition dinner

California Highway Patrol Lt. Gordon J. Graham, an assistant to general counsel at CHP headquarters, will be the featured speaker at the May 17 police recognition dinner at La Rinconada Country Club.

Graham is an instructor at several local colleges, police academies and other public and private institutions. His primary areas of expertise are defense of police misconduct allegations and job-based harassment. He recently was presented the Governor's Award for excellence in law enforcement training.

The seventh annual recognition dinner is being organized by the Los Gatos Rotary Club and the Los Gatos Police Department. Awards and recognition will be given for appropriate acts of heroism, significant contribution by police officers and significant contribution by members of the community.

As is traditional with the dinner, organizations and individuals are invited to "Sponsor a Cop" for dinner or make a contribution to help recognize police employees.

Cost for the dinner is $25 per person. The evening begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. Dancing follows dinner and the program. For information, call Mike Spanier, 354-4121.
